Controller Bart de Lange introduces himself

By Editorial

As of 1 December last. Bart de Lange supervises the financial administration of HP De LIMES.  Bart is 58 years old and spent a large part of his life in Costa Rica (Central America). There he worked as a controller/manager at a flower nursery. The financial watchdog has been back in the Netherlands for two years and lives with his family in Heerhugowaard. Although the father of three daughters has always worked in the commercial sector, he is no stranger to the healthcare sector.  For the last year and a half, he has been working as a controller in home care. He is aware that a non-profit organization has different financial frameworks than the commercial one. Does he experience that as a limitation? Bart: “The structure of the public sector is definitely different. It’s also not based on customer acquisition and revenue optimization. In a GP post, it is more about delivering the best quality within a certain budget. There are more restrictions and limitations, but I don’t see that as a handicap. You want to steer things in the right direction. I see my work as supporting the departments that carry out the work.” When asked what his first impression of De LIMES is, the Alkmaar native answers: “I notice that it is an organization that is in full development after a merger. For example, there are some new managers. The conversations I’ve had so far have been pleasant and the atmosphere good. As a controller, I expect to be able to provide support where necessary.”

We wish Bart the best of luck.
