Temporary restriction A&E LUMC

source: LUMC

In the evening and night of Tuesday 23 May to Wednesday 24 May 2023, the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) will update its ICT system in connection with the migration of the electronic patient record (HiX). The update will be performed in the evening/night to put patient safety first.

As a result of the update, our healthcare systems are less or unavailable. That is why we ask you not to send any patients to the Emergency Department of the LUMC on Tuesday evening 23 May from 17:00 until Wednesday 24 May until probably 09:00 .

Although we want to limit the influx to the ED on Tuesday evening 23 May from 17:00, the following very specific groups can go to the LUMC:

1. Patients known to the Obstetrics Department of the LUMC
2. Neonatology patients
3. Mission Patients for Cardiology
4. Patients with multitraumatology
5. Resuscitation patients
6. Patients with suspected stroke

In the morning of May 24, we will inform you as soon as the ER is open.

We would like to ask you to take this temporary restriction of the LUMC emergency department into account. If you have any further questions, please contact the head of the Emergency Department, Ms. M.M. Cohen on telephone number 071 526 1251.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.
