Life threatening situation? Always call 112

Dear colleagues,

by Gos de Vries – Managing Director

As I write this foreword on Sunday, I know that at the same time there is a lot of hard work being done by general practitioners and our staff at the three Posts of De LIMES. Although I cautiously say that the number of surgeries has decreased somewhat and is more in line with 2019, the ongoing shortage of triage nurses and physician assistants ensures that the workload is still high. Although the waiting times may increase, you will manage to guarantee the continuity and quality of care. Compliments!

Fortunately, in addition to this less good news, there is also a better outlook: the number of employable junior triage nurses is increasing again and five candidate triage nurses have been hired! And perhaps the recently started intensive recruitment campaign with articles in door-to-door newspapers and promotional videos will result in even more new employees, so that we finally enter the summer (holidays) with a better staffing level.

In addition to recruiting new triage nurses and doctor’s assistants, we are also working hard to bring ‘the office’ up to strength. Procedures are currently underway to fill the positions of ICT Manager, Manager Leiderdorp/Alphen, Communication Advisor, Team Leader Leiderdorp and HR employee. Here, too, there is a prospect of filling all these positions around the summer!

As you know, we organized two very successful strategy meetings in December, led by Jojanneke Kant and Jeroen van der Noordaa. The results of these meetings are expressed in a concise report and two beautiful drawings. Nevertheless, the MT and the Cooperative Board believe that, in addition to the practical results, a translation is needed into Mission, Vision, Strategy in outline and core values. To this end, we met for a day on Thursday 20 April. Under the guidance of Hileen Boosman and Nadine de Vries of Morgens, we discussed this with each other. The outcome of this meeting should lead to a concise note in which we describe our Mission, Vision, Strategy and core values. This memorandum will then be discussed internally within De LIMES and will eventually be adopted by the GMM on 6 July. In the meantime, we are already working hard to implement what we came up with in December. In the next newsletter I will discuss the results achieved so far and the projects that are ongoing.

I would like to conclude with the great news that we will also organize a big summer party this year, following last year’s beach party. On the longest day of the year, June 21st, at a beautiful location in Katwijk aan Zee! A joy to thank you for your efforts in the past year, to raise a glass to the great projects and challenges in the coming year and to emphasize how important it is for employees of De LIMES to have time for a good conversation, relaxation and fun with each other! Click HERE for the invitation.

And at the end of this (too) long foreword, I would of course like to draw your attention to all the interesting topics covered in this newsletter. Happy reading!
