Location committees, sounding board groups and directing physician consultations
11-10-2021 -by Thomas Knol – medical manager Alphen/Leiderdorp
Recently, a new location committee was set up for the Alphen and Leiderdorp locations. As a body, this committee is comparable to the so-called Sounding Board Group of the Voorhout location. The participants consist of general practitioners, both practice owners and observers with a medical manager as chairman and support from a note-taker from the Business Office.
The first location committee meeting of Alphen/Leiderdorp took place on Wednesday 6 October. The purpose of this location committee is, among other things, to improve the contact between the organization and the general practitioners on duty. Furthermore, the committee has an advisory role and focuses on practical matters of the workplace. This is different from the GMM (General Members Meeting) where it is more about general administrative matters. The GMM is cooperative-wide. The committee is location-specific (for the time being Alphen and Leiderdorp together due to the small number of participants). In Voorhout, the sounding board group has been around for some time. This one has a similar function.
The Alphen/Leiderdorp location committee can still use a few more members for both locations. Meeting frequency is every 2 months. In time, this will be less frequent, to think of four times a year. The consultations are generally online, occasionally it can be done at the GP post itself if this has added value.
The first directing physician meeting for Leiderdorp/Alphen was at the beginning of this year, the second is scheduled for the end of this month. For Voorhout, a directing physician meeting is scheduled for 9 November. All in all, a lot of work is being done to connect and represent the locations.
