Life threatening situation? Always call 112

Aggression and safety

by Gerben Welling – director

Around COVID19, we have to deal with increasing aggression at the GP post but also in the day practices. Especially if we have to deal with phase 3 (code black), this can increase a bit. Regionally, the healthcare providers have consulted with the police about how to act when this occurs. For the decision tree for healthcare workers regarding aggression and violence CLICK HERE. Perhaps unnecessarily, a few points of attention:

  • In case of an acute threat, call for help via 112. The agreements per location apply to all GP posts of De LIMES B.V.
  • For non-urgent matters, it is best to contact the local police officer. The details of the local police officer can be found on www.politie.nl or via 0900-8844.
  • Consider filing a police report. There is extensive documentation for this on https://www.ssfh.nl/veilig-werken/na-een-agressie-incident/ . A few points to consider:
    • Do not state your own home address when filing your tax return, but your work address.
    • Say that it is a VPT report, these will be treated with priority by the police.
